HOWEVER, it makes sense to check the prices from the booking system of the hotel. The proces in there may sometimes be cheaper than the above given rates!
In addition to these, Barcelona has many hotels and hostels in a wide range of prices. Internet searches can help such as Google or Booking.com. Be careful using unlicensed rentals through Airbnb because there have been recent crack-downs on cheap tourism. You can also check accommodation options at the student residency in the vicinity of ICM-CSIC. Campus Mar and Ciutadella are further away from ICM-CSIC but are closer to the city center.
On Sunday, May 10, there will be a walking tour "Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea from the Middle Ages to the XVIII century". This is a walk through 700 years of the history of Barcelona and its relationship with the Mediterranean sea. You will get to know the medieval port district of Vilanova del Mar with its "Cathedral of the Seas", the old Gothic quarter with its King´s Palace, the Cathedral and other medieval remains and the new fishermen´s district built over reclaimed land in the middle of the XVIII century. The tour is followed by a welcome drink and tapas. The approximated gathering time for the tour is 16.30. Conference dinner will be organized on Tuesday, May 12, in beachfront restaurant Barraca Barcelonetta, http://www.tribuwoki.com/en/restaurante/barraca-barceloneta/

However, floods of foreign visitors have had an eroding effect on general meal quality around touristic locations. When in search for a good meal, we suggest that you adhere to the following:
Beside the regular treats such as Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, and Casa Batlló, for instance, Barcelona has a wealth of museums and attractions to offer that are less famous but worth a visit:
For inspiration, take a look on this tourist guide. Taking the Barcelona Bus Turístic is a good way to visit many of these places while learning something under way. It’s actually quite nice and super convenient.
