INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS AND ATTENDEES
EOS Optical Technologies conferences include:
- 5th Conference on Manufacturing of Optical Systems
- 4th Conference on Optofluidics
- 2nd Conference on Light Engineering
(Conference on Optomechanical Engineering is merged into Manufacturing of Optical Systems conference)
These already established Conferences will be held for the first time under one title: EOS Optical Technologies.
EOS Optical Technologies addresses all aspects of optical technologies like development and manufacturing of optical systems and components, opto-fluidics, optomechanical engineering and light engineering.
Advancements in technology and innovative manufacturing processes are crucial for optical sector growth in today's global markets. Markets with high developmental momentum include the energy and semiconductor, life sciences, health care and the agri-food industries. Optical technologies play a crucial role in these markets, the importance of sophisticated but economically priced optical components being vital to new products and applications.
EOS Conferences are held under the umbrella of the World of Photonics Congress 2017, the leading international congress for optical technologies in Europe (26-29 June 2017).
Abstract Submission
Abstract submission is closed.
Submission deadline was March 3, 2017.
- Abstracts are submitted online via Conftool (https://www.conftool.com/wpc2017)
- Authors are requested to submit a two-page abstract, which is formatted according to the EOS abstract guidelines. Both Word or LaTeX templates are available.
- Indicate the preference format of your presentation (oral/poster) in the submission procedure in Conftool.
- All accepted contributions are to be published on the EOS Optical Technologies digest USB (ISBN numbered) which will be available on-site. The Authors retain the copyright of their abstracts.
- At least one author is requested to register for the meeting.
Paper Publication in JEOS:RP
Presenters at EOS Optical Technologies are kindly invited to consider the submission of a manuscript of their research to the EOS open-access on-line journal JEOS: RP (Journal of the European Optical Society, Rapid Publications, jeos.springeropen.com).
JEOS:RP publishes articles about recent scientific research and technological innovation as well as review papers about a topic in science or innovation from the recent past. A contribution should be original and will be subjected to the journal’s standard anonymous peer review process for scientific quality. The average time-to-publication of the journal is of the order of 75 days.
Fee for EOS Members: 950 EUR

Pre-registration now open (Early Bird until June 1, 2017).
At least one author of an accepted contribution is required to register in advance to the conference.
The registration for EOS Optical Technologies conferences includes admission to ALL conferences at the World of Photonics Congress as well as free admission to the LASER World of Photonics trade fair and supporting program.

The Congress ticket grants you admission to all conferences that are part of the World of Photonics Congress.

The Congress ticket does not include public transportation services.

VISA Service
For attendees/speakers at the EOS conferences, we offer an invitation letter service. You can request a visa invitation letter for the World of Photonics Congress by contacting Ms. Elina Koistinen, koistinen@myeos.org, +358505924693. We ask you to first register and click "yes" for the invitation letter. Please remember to add all information needed for the letter.

Oral presentations
Authors are requested to upload their presentations prior to the conference. Information on uploading your presentation.
In exceptional cases authors can upload their presentations on-site at the “Speaker‘s check-in”. All uploaded files will be destroyed after the conference. Authors are requested to come to the conference room well in advance of their presentation to check-in with the conference chair.
Time slots: time slots for each conference have been sent to the authors/presenters of submissions. If you want to check this, please see the schedule or contact wpc2017@myeos.org
- Please make sure to keep within the time limit provided and leave room for questions.
- Please be present at the conference room before the start of a session, not to interrupt other presentations.
Technical equipment: All technical equipment (presentation computer, video projector, sound system, laser pointer) will be available on-site.
Personal laptop cannot be connected in the conference rooms.

Poster presentations
Poster session: Tuesday, June 27, 12:50 – 14:00 CEST
Location: The poster session will take place in hall B0, ICM.
Required Poster size: The posters should have a size of DIN A1 (594 x 841 mm) or DIN A0 (841 x 1189 mm) in a portrait format (no landscape format).
Set-up/dismantling: Poster numbers will be displayed on the poster boards to show authors where to place their poster. Material for poster mounting will be provided.
Poster authors are requested to be present at their posters during the official poster session. Please prepare and print your poster in advance to the conference. Poster set-up and removal is in the responsibility of the authors. Any posters left on the boards at the close of the poster session will be discarded.
Industrial Poster Session
This session is part of the Manufacturing of Optical Systems where companies are entitled to present their key technology competences on a roll-up that will be presented during the whole time of the conference in the conference session room. Submission and review for roll-ups is closed.

We ask the companies to provide the conference organizer with a roll-up/banner stand including the contents that you wish to promote (the abstract that was reviewed and accepted in the submission phase).
Please note, that due to fire safety, no posters can be put up in the conference room walls. Thus, only roll-ups/banner stands are accepted.
The dimensions of the roll-up/banner stand should not exceed 1000mm (width) x 2200mm (height) x 400mm (depth).
The roll-up can either be
- brought to the conference site (EOS registration desk) on Sunday, 25 June, by 15:00 CEST or
- it can be sent to Messe Munich (address details)
Fee for the roll-up in the conference room is only 100 EUR (excl. VAT), for all three days of the conference. When you provide us with the VAT number of your company in the payment phase, the fee will be excluded of VAT.

World of Photonics Congress 2017
The EOS Conferences on Optical Technologies takes place under the umbrella of the World of Photonics Congress (25-29 June 2017), the leading international congress for optical technologies in Europe and one of the top 3 congresses of its kind worldwide. It is organised by Messe München International and held in conjunction with LASER World of PHOTONICS (26-29 June 2017), the international trade fair for optical technologies including components, systems and applications, so there is an intense exchange between the scientific and industrial sectors.
RespiceSME workshop “Aligning Education with Innovation”

The goal of the workshop is to analyse the challenges for improving the curricula of photonics courses and therewith, the educational offer in photonics (and related subjects) for students.
