The new EOS brochure "How optics and photonics address Europe’s challenges of the 21st century" demonstrates to politicians and the broad public how photonics address Europe‘s challenges in the 21st century by providing solutions for the fields of health, energy, environment, production, IT, security and transport.

The submission will be open until Tuesday, 8 June 2010. Required details about the research project are: title, abstract (max. 1.500 characters), start and end date, application area of relevance, your affiliation, image of your research project and the project logo (if any).

An EOS jury will select the best contributions for publication in the printed brochure. In addition, all contributions will be published in a web gallery at www.old.myeos.org. Both the brochure and the web gallery will be published in summer 2010 and will be widely promoted in the European optics and photonics community.

The brochure will be mailed to representatives of the European Commission, European Parliament, the EOS membership and to the leaders of other European organizations. In addition, the brochure will be distributed at the following events:
